SCF Volleyball Wins Three In-A-Row

SCF Volleyball extends their winning streak to three after defeating Trinity College and South Florida State College.

Vs. Trinity College

The Manatees defeated Trinity College by a final score of 3-0. Strong offense was the theme of the evening as SCF amassed a .438 hitting percentage. Liliana Palacios led the team with an absurd .857 hitting percentage. She had 13 kills on 14 attempts. The offense overall was balanced as six Manatees recorded at least five kills. Palacios and Aryanna Spainhower led the team with 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Ja'Nyshia Graham and Ava Turner each had 8 kills, which tied for 3rd on the team for the evening. Adasyn Konopka had perhaps the strongest performance of her season in this one. Konopka finished with 57 total assists. The defense was strong all-around for the Manatees as 10 players recorded three or more DIGS. Aryanna Spainhower led the team with 16 DIGS.

Vs. South Florida State College

SCF was eager to avenge their loss to South Florida just last week, and they certainly delivered. The Manatees seemed to be in control of this match from the start and they never looked back. Ericka Freeman had a great offensive performance. Freeman has 12 kills on 16 attempts. The offense received several contributions from Maya Sharp, Ava Turner, and Aryanna Spainhower. Maya Sharp had a great all-around performance as she contributed 7 kills, 7 service aces, and 14 DIGS. Defensively, the Manatees received a great performance from several players. Adasyn Konopka, Aryanna Spainhower, and Ava Turner all contributed at least 20 DIGS with Turner coming away with 30 DIGS, in what is a new career-high. Adasyn Konopka once again did a nice job setting up the Manatees to be productive on offense as she contributed 39 assists.

The Manatees will head on the road for a while as they take on Gulf Coast State College and Pensacola State College this weekend. Next weekend, the Manatees travel to Leesburg, Jacksonville, and Palatka to round out the bulk of their away matches for the season. SCF's next home match is October 16th at 6:30 pm, which will be Sophomore Night for the team. Come on out and support your Manatees!
