Softball Takes Three Against Florida Gateway
Game 1 - 2/20
The State College of Florida offense exploded for 16 hits and 13 RBIs in a commanding 14–3 victory over Florida Gateway College, highlighted by power at the plate and a complete-game effort in the circle from Allison Cole.
SCF wasted little time setting the tone, consistently applying pressure throughout the lineup. Bree Urban led the charge with a monster performance, going 4-for-5 with a double, three RBIs, and five runs scored. Cailinne Kelly added a home run among her two hits, driving in a pair, while Kierstyn Aumua launched a homer of her own and finished with four RBIs.
Jamie Sepsick delivered in key moments, tallying three RBIs, and Brooke-Lynn Hilderbrand contributed two hits, an RBI, and a stolen base to keep the offense rolling. Ava Campanale and Kaitlyn Shea each chipped in, with Shea adding a double to SCF's extra-base hit total.
In all, SCF pounded out 14 runs on 16 hits, capitalizing on four Florida Gateway errors to extend innings and create separation.
Inside the circle, Allison Cole went the distance, tossing all seven innings while allowing three runs on eight hits. She struck out five and walked three, limiting damage and working out of multiple jams to keep Florida Gateway from mounting a comeback.
Florida Gateway was paced by Karis Richardson, who went 2-for-2 with a double and two walks, and Rylee Walker, who drove in two runs. Rachel Smith also added an RBI, accounting for the team's three runs.
Game 2 - 2/21
The Manatees used timely power hitting and aggressive baserunning to secure a 10–2 victory over Florida Gateway College, scoring in bunches and controlling the game from start to finish.
SCF's offense was sparked by a huge day from Jamie Sepsick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Kierstyn Aumua also went deep, finishing 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. The duo's long balls helped break the game open and gave the Manatees all the breathing room they would need.
A'Lana Martinez set the tone at the top of the lineup, collecting two hits, driving in a run, and swiping three bases. Brooke-Lynn Hilderbrand and Kaitlyn Shea each added an RBI, while Genesis Lopez and Baylie Dorr chipped in key run-producing hits as SCF totaled 10 runs on 10 hits.
The Manatees were relentless on the bases, stealing five bags overall and consistently putting pressure on the Florida Gateway defense, which committed five errors that led to extended innings and unearned runs.
In the circle, Dava Hoffer delivered a steady complete-game effort, going six innings while allowing just two runs on four hits. She struck out two and walked three, limiting hard contact and stranding runners in scoring position. The only damage came on a two-run home run by Kate Dell'Alba, which accounted for both of Florida Gateway's runs.
Game 3 - 2/21
SCF Softball unleashed a relentless offensive attack Tuesday afternoon, piling up 17 hits in a dominant 13–3 five-inning victory over Florida Gateway College.
SCF wasted no time setting the tone, stringing together quality at-bats throughout the lineup. Bree Urban delivered a perfect 4-for-4 performance, ripping two doubles and driving in two runs while scoring twice. Rebekah Lewis provided the biggest swing of the day, blasting two home runs and finishing with four RBIs to power the Manatees' surge.
Cailinne Kelly added three RBIs on two hits, while Kierstyn Aumua collected a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in two. Jamie Sepsick also contributed two RBIs, and A'Lana Martinez reached base three times, scored twice, doubled, and stole a base to keep the pressure on early. In total, SCF scored 13 runs on 17 hits, drawing five walks and striking out just twice.
Florida Gateway showed flashes offensively, highlighted by a triple from Malana Kennard, who drove in two runs. Haley Marker added a double, and Karis Richardson chipped in an RBI. However, the Timberwolves managed just five hits overall and left seven runners on base.
In the circle, Mia Macaione turned in a solid five-inning complete-game effort. She allowed three runs on five hits while striking out four and walking three, limiting damage and working efficiently to secure the run-rule victory.
