Baseball Earns Saturday Win Versus Florida Southwestern
State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota put together a balanced offensive effort and a strong start on the mound to take down Florida SouthWestern State College, 5–3, controlling the game with steady pressure from start to finish.
SCF wasted little time getting into rhythm offensively, collecting nine hits and consistently putting the ball in play. Karson Grout led the charge at the top of the lineup, going 2-for-4 with an RBI, setting the tone early. Dominic Woodward matched him with a pair of hits and scored a run, continuing to be a reliable presence in the middle of the order.
The middle of the lineup came through in key moments. Josh Castellani delivered a strong performance, finishing 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, while Will Rawls chipped in with a hit and an RBI of his own, including a productive sacrifice fly. Even without recording a hit, Holden Brauner contributed with an RBI, showing SCF's ability to manufacture runs in multiple ways.
One of the most dynamic performances came from Calin Heath, who reached base twice and made a major impact on the basepaths, swiping three bags and scoring twice. His speed created constant disruption and helped SCF capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Steele Burd added an extra-base spark with a triple and also came around to score, further highlighting the lineup's depth.
On the mound, Lochlan Radloff delivered a workmanlike complete-game performance, going all seven innings while allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits. He struck out nine and consistently worked out of trouble, limiting the damage despite traffic on the bases.
Florida SouthWestern showed resilience at the plate, led by Bishop Quarles, who collected three hits and scored twice, but SCF's pitching and timely defense kept them from breaking through in bigger moments.
