Baseball Wins A Non-Conference Game Against Daytona State
Daytona State struck early, getting on the board behind a solo home run from Josh Vinciguerra, who finished 1-for-5 with an RBI. The Falcons showed flashes offensively throughout the game, with Jake Schincariol and David Falloon each collecting two hits, but couldn't consistently string together rallies against the SCF pitching staff. John Lopez provided a key moment with a two-RBI contribution, accounting for the bulk of Daytona's run production.
SCF answered quickly and did much of its damage early, capitalizing on free passes and situational execution. Joshua Reiter led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, an RBI, and a run scored. His ability to drive the ball into the gaps helped ignite the middle innings for SCF.
Steele Burd delivered another important swing, recording a double and driving in a run while also crossing the plate himself. Holden Brauner and Will Rawls didn't register hits but made their presence felt by working walks and scoring runs, helping keep pressure on Daytona State's pitching staff.
SCF's offense also benefited from productive outs. Ryan Kaitz and Dominic Woodward each picked up an RBI despite being held hitless, showcasing the team's situational approach at the plate.
On the mound, Trevor Zeigler set the tone, allowing just one run over four innings while working around four walks to earn the win. Daniel Norbeck followed with a strong outing in relief, striking out seven over 3.1 innings and limiting Daytona's momentum, aside from a solo homer. Late in the game, Vincent Cooke shut the door with a clean ninth inning to secure the save.
