SCF Baseball Defeats Tampa JV 11-1
The Manatees erupted for 11 runs on 13 hits and received a dominant performance from its pitching staff in an 11-1 victory over the University of Tampa JV.
SCF wasted little time setting the tone offensively, using aggressive baserunning and timely extra-base hits to build separation. Ryan Kaitz led the charge at the plate, going 3-for-6 with three RBI and two stolen bases. Dominic Woodward delivered the game's biggest swing, launching a home run and finishing 2-for-5 with four RBI.
Calin Heath sparked the offense from the bottom half of the lineup, scoring three times while going 2-for-4 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Holden Brauner added a triple and drove in a run, while Karson Grout, Ben Ryan, and Steele Burd each contributed doubles as SCF consistently applied pressure.
On the mound, SCF's staff combined for a commanding effort, limiting Tampa JV to just five hits and one run while striking out 15. Trevor Zeigler got the start, and after allowing a first-inning run, the bullpen took control. Daniel Norbeck struck out four over two scoreless innings, and Baden Wallace (1-0) earned the win with 1.1 shutout frames and three strikeouts. Chase Wildroudt and Abel Martin continued the shutdown work late, and Woodward closed out the contest.
Defensively, SCF turned a key double play involving Ben Ryan, Josh Castellani, and Heath to halt a Tampa threat.
The Manatees' balanced offensive attack and dominant pitching performance secured the convincing win as they continue to build momentum early in the season.
