Champions for Our Community
Bradenton, Fla - After a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Manatees student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff stormed the community to give back. The Day of Champions, held Saturday September 25, 2021, is designated by the Athletic Department as a day to step away from sport, serve others and make an impact in our community. Each year, the Manatees partner with United Way of Manatee County to identify organizations which could benefit from in influx of volunteers on this special day. After meeting at the college, the athletic teams spread out throughout Manatee and Sarasota Counties to the agencies indentified by the United Way.
Here is a list of all of the organizations the Manatees served in this third annual event:
- Hope Family Services
- Mother's Helping Mothers
- Adam and Rogers Cemetery
- Church of the Holy Spirit
- Easter Seals
- United Way Veteran's Day Service
A special thank you to Southern Edge for generously donating the shirts for the event. Additionally we are grateful the the United Way and their continued support of this impactful day of service. Click on the video below for some scenes from Day of Champions 2021.
