11/23/2011- JACKSONVILLE,FL- The State College of Florida men's basketball team looked to be on its' way to a non-conference road win on Wednesday night.
A 3-point basket with three seconds left in regulation for host Florida State College at Jacksonville saved the Stars. The Manatees were outscored 10-6 in the extra session and lost 68-64.
Anthony Prescott led SCF with 25 points while Denzel Myers added 16.
The manatees led 35-29 at halftime, but were held to just 23 points over the next 20 minutes.
"We did not have the effort we needed," SCF head coach Joe Whelton said. "We still had a great chance to win. "The emotion was not there and our lack of foul shooting really hurt us.
The Manatees went just 14-for-23 from the line.
