Softball wins two at HCC to take the lead in Suncoast Conference, W 8-4 and 8-0

PLANT CITY, Fla.- SCF Softball took two from HCC in Suncoast Conference action. Heading in to the double header the teams were tied for first in the Suncoast Conference with a (6-2) record. The Manatees defeated the Hawks in extra innings 8-4 and 8-0 in game two.

The Manatees won behind freshman hurler, Paige Mathews, in 10 Ks and only 1 earned run. Chelsea Wildey was 2-for-4 with her first career solo blast. Kayla Bjorge added 2 hits and a stolen base. Sophomore catcher, Angie Dascoli added a big RBI single and Ashley Burney hit the go ahead single to score Dascoli again in the 10th.

Chelsea Oglevie shut down the HCC offense with a 7 inning complete game shutout. Wildey was 2-for-3 adding another RBI double. Kat Gavern added 2 hits and an RBI to seal the win.

SCF is now (39-9) and (8-2) in conference.
