SCF Softball wins twice over Illinois Valley CC, 8-0 and 2-0, Kirstin Toole throws no-hitter
BRADENTON,Fla- The rain held off long enough for the SCF Softball team to get two wins over Illinois Valley Community College. Game one was an 8-0 shutout in 5 innings. The Manatees held the Eagles for the win in game two, 2-0, behind a no-hitter from Sophomore Kirstin Toole. In the 8-0 victory, the offense was led by sophomore short stop, Dani Wayt, who was 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Kayla Bjorge and Ashley Burney added two hits and an RBI each. Angie Dascoli had an RBI double in the fourth inning to seal the run-rule win. In game two, SCF and IVCC were tied at 0-0 until the sixth inning. Gianni Artidiello reached first with a hit by pitch followed by a walk for Bjorge. Angie Dascoli roped another two RBI double to secure the win. Kirstin Toole had her first no-hitter of the season. It was a complete game shut out with six Ks. Toole improved to 7-4 on the season. The Manatees are now (35-9) and resume conference play Tuesday at Polk State College.
