Softball splits at home with HCC in conference play

BRADENTON,Fla.- The Manatees dropped game one to Hillsborough Community College, 1-0. Sophomore starter Chelsea Oglevie went all seven innings for SCF. HCC's Laura Downs held SCF to only three hits. Dani Wayt was 2-for-3 and Angie Dascoli added a single. The Manatees answered with a 4-0 shut out win behind Paige Mathews. Mathews added 13 strikeouts and improved to (16-2). Ashley Burney had two RBIs, Angie Dascoli scored twice, and Dani Wayt hit an RBI triple. SCF is (30-8) overall and (1-1) in conference play. They play at home on Thursday at 5pm against South Florida Community College.
