Ward is a retired professional basketball player and assistant coach who played 14 years in the NBA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. From Clinton, Miss., Ward was the No. 1 player in the nation in 1994 and named the Naismith Prep Player of the Year honoring the nation’s best male and female high school basketball players including LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard. Ward was a USA Today, McDonald’s, Parade, Gatorade, and Slam Magazine All-American who signed with the University of Michigan. He was a University of Michigan basketball letter winner and ranked 5th in career threepoint field goals. He was Big Ten All-Star Europe Team Most Valuable Player, Big Ten Conference Most Improved Player, 1st Team All-Big Ten Tournament Team and 1st Team Puerto Rico All-tournament Team. Ward is the owner and CEO of JW Pro Ball, which trains and mentors athletes. Ward holds a bachelor’s degree in general studies with a concentration in business from University of Michigan. He and his wife, Patricia, reside in Sarasota and Michigan.
