Myers' buzzer beater gives SCF 2OT conference win over HCC

2/1/2012-TAMPA,FL-Denzel Myers hit the game-winning shot for the State College of Florida basketball team to give the Manatees a 71-70 double-overtime victory over Hillsborough CC in Tampa Wednesday night.

Myers shot came at the buzzer of the second extra session. The freshman finished the game with 19 points. Odi Onyekachukwu led the Manatees with 21 and Marvin Johnson tossed in 15. Elias Gutierrez added 11 in the Suncoast Conference win.

SCF held a 29-28 lead at halftime and both teams were even at 57 after regulation.

The Manatees will host two consecutive conference contests beginning Saturday at Hal Chasey Gymnasium. Suncoast leader St. Petersburg College will face SCF Saturday at 4 p.m. The Manatees will then host Hillsborough Wednesday at 7 p.m.
