SCF Baseball 2010-2011 Players Move On
The 2010-2011 SCF Baseball team had ten players sign to NCAA Division I and II institutions. They had 11 of 12 sophomore players move on to collegiate and professional baseball.
BRADENTON,FL- SCF Baseball had a successful 2011 Spring season with a record of (30-22) and another FSCAA State Tournament appearance. The success continued with perfect matriculation for the 2011 class.
FSCAA Player of the Year, LB Dantzler, signed with the University of South Carolina Gamecocks who are the 2010 & 2011 Division I National Champions. FSCAA Pitcher of the Year, Nick Goody, is at the Louisiana State University after turning down a contract from the New York Yankees. Steven Leasure is playing in Tampa for the University of South Florida. Other Manatees staying in the Tampa area are BJ Zimmerman, Anthony Caronia, and Ben Brown who have all signed to play at the University of Tampa. Local Manatee High star, Jeremy Strawn, received a scholarship at Florida Atlantic University. Other signees were Brandon Patterson (USC-Upstate), Colton Speed (Murray State University), and Paul Stortini (Lynn University). Roderick (Rock) Shoulders accepted an offer to play for the Chicago Cubs organization as he was drafted in the 25th round of the 2011 MLB Draft.
